The LBD is known as the Little black dress for most people. But, for me, it is my Long Black Dress. Even though I am not a big fan of all things black, this dress caught my eye, and I knew just then that I could style it in a number of different ways without ever getting bored.

So, I have come up with Four different looks to share with you all:

Look 1 – The Cool Nerd

For this look, I have paired the dress with black wedged sneakers, and to give the black some life, I added a colourful knitted top. Keeping the look simple, I wore a basic black watch and choker.

The lips and bagpack on the other hand add the cool to the nerd.

Look 2 – Rock Chick

Attending a rock concert or any kind of a rocking party always calls for comfort and style, all in one look, for the sole purpose of showing off some dance moves.

For the comfort part, I am wearing high top sneakers and for the style part, I added patches to my plain denim jacket and also wore a funky red choker.

To complete the look and give it some more oomph, I did my hair up in two buns and put on some grey lipstick.

Look 3 – Traditional Alert

The indo-western fusion being my speciality, I had to add some indian spices to my basic dress. In order to do this, I added my five favourite spices — a short mirror work jacket, jhumkas, jutties, bangles and a bindi.

All these elements add a hint of bling, still, keeping it under the OTT line.

Jutties- Fizzy Goblet. Jhumkas- Wonderland, MG Road, Pune.

Look 4 – The Formal One

To complete all the craziness with some subtlety, for the last look, I kept the same hair and makeup as the traditional look, but still made it all different by adding an elegant lace jacket. To keep things interesting, I paired it up with a chunky-yet-chic necklace and block heels.

The box bag adds a dash of playfulness, but is still big enough to carry all the essentials.

  2. I’m totally floored by your “LBD” collection and love your interpretation of it as “long”…. Excellent pics and the description along literally puts me in the place with you… Can’t wait for more of your sassy posts…. Summer suddenly got hotter!!!

  3. Great post! Usually when people say “LBD” they mean short dresses (I would probably too because I own a few to none maxi skirts or dresses), so I like your take on it with a maxi dress πŸ™‚ And it does count as LBD because it also stands for a “go-to” dress and taking from your outfits in this post, you like your black dress πŸ˜‰ My favorite outfit will have to be the 1st one, it’s so bold and colorful and the metallic purple, I just love it! πŸ™‚
You just gained yourself a new follower πŸ˜‰
